Join us for our last volunteer event of 2018!
The Community Farm Fall Volunteer Gathering on November 7th from 3-6 will be a way to see our farm, work with our volunteers, meet our staff, and celebrate our successes of 2018!
Get your hands dirty with one of many Fall farm tasks, such as planting garlic, sowing cover crop, removing Summer veggie plants and prepping beds. Take a break from your projects and enjoy a warm fire, hot apple cider, and doughnuts.
volunteers make it happen
Come meet us, work with our neighbors, eat great food and see what we do. You will help with a variety of projects that support our mission and bring food growing and nutrition education to the Madison community and Grand Rapids as a whole!
We applaud the hearts of our volunteers! Without the many helpful hands, our community farm wouldn't be the place it is. We strive to offer a variety of ways for volunteers to get involved with Urban Roots so that anyone can join us as we Grow. Eat. & Learn.
Interested? Fill out this form to get started!

We are looking to add drop in hours on other weekday evenings. That said, we need an additional volunteer coordinator to work with us weekly during that time. No experience necessary! If you are interested please email firstname.lastname@example.org!
BE A PART OF OUR TEAM
When we can, we love working with long term volunteers. You can become part of our team with a weekly commitment of 2-8 hours on a regular day(s).
The process to become a long term volunteer is to start by being a drop in volunteer. As we get to know people, long term volunteer positions and individual projects tend to manifest themselves pretty naturally.
We need all kinds of individuals who are ready to dig in! (get it?) We look forward to meeting you!
