volunteers make it happen

Come meet us, work with our neighbors, eat great food and see what we do. You will help with a variety of projects that support our mission and bring food growing and nutrition education to the Madison community and Grand Rapids as a whole!

We applaud the hearts of our volunteers! Without the many helpful hands, our community farm wouldn't be the place it is. We strive to offer a variety of ways for volunteers to get involved with Urban Roots so that anyone can join us as we Grow. Eat. & Learn.

2018 special committees

New in 2018, we have formed a Fund Raising and Events Committee. This volunteer opportunity is great for people with professional skills who wish to donate their time to the work of Urban Roots.

This committee meets one hour a month on a Thursday evening from 5:30p - 6:30p

For more information on joining this committee, please email maaike@urbanrootsgr.org

BE A PART OF OUR TEAM

When we can, we love working with long term volunteers. You can become part of our team with a weekly commitment of 2-8 hours on a regular day(s).

The process to become a long term volunteer is to start by being a drop in volunteer at events and open houses. As we get to know people, long term volunteer positions and individual projects tend to manifest themselves pretty naturally.

We need all kinds of individuals who are ready to dig in! (get it?) We look forward to meeting you!
